Tree Topper!

I was spending my morning browsing the wonderful art work on Totally Tilda when I came across this lovely lady's art work and her challenge to take a pair of angel wings and create something with them.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. A lot going on here. Spent the day with my parents and my brother before heading home to watch the amazing Spider-Man with Edward. I have the grandbabies tomorrow then work before an amazing Saturday off to work on Christmas cards and then watch movies with Edward once more. I enjoy those times because it allows me to unwind and relax and enjoy life. This will probably be one of the last days I get to do that before the holiday madness begins.

Equal Love!

So I decided Jacob needed some loving too.....

For Bitten

So today I had a moment of inspiration thanks to the faceboook message I got from a fellow Twilighter whom I go to see all midnight releases with.  I had the overwhelming urge to create a Twilight card in honor of the November 15th Midnight release of Breaking Dawn Part 2.

Cards

I am beyond excited... Tomorrow.... The first day I have had in about two months where no one has been around to bother me while I work on cards.  I plan an early start to my day and work till about 2:30 in the afternoon... I am hoping to get alot done.. I made a trip to the Hollows today with Jen and we had a blast.  I picked up about 3 pounds of paper and 12 more 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 envelopes for the Christmas cards.  I also need to photograph a few cards so I can get them out and to their receipents this week.  Well off to bed I go if I want to get up early tomorrow.

Brightest Blessings!

Fall and life!

So much in my life has been turned upside down.. We were forced to move last month and I went from having an entire room devoted to scrappbooking and card making to a little corner of a room.  It has been hard adjusting as I do not get the peace and quiet that I once had to create.  So as a result many projects have been put on hold or just plain dumped for lack of creative drive.  I am in a few Fall/Halloween blog hops this month and next and I have been getting those done. I wil post the projects when the hops begin.  I am currently trying to get a list together as well as ideas for Christmas cards that I really must get moving on in the next few weeks.  I have vacation starting the 27th of October and I plan on getting as much cardmaking time in as I can.  Well off I go.. I am going to try to sketch out some card ideas in between yelling at the grandbabies for one thing or another today.  :)  Brightest Blessings!

Technology!

To quote Bella Swan's mother.... I repel technology..... yep that is me.. I have 3 computers in this house and two of them decided that it was time to go at the same time.. Life would not have been so bad if one computer was not my main gaming computer with all the nice graphic cards, bells and whistles and the other was my daughters computer which has all our family phots, music, and digital cutter files for my Silhouette on it.. Not to mention it is apparently the only computer with the working camera card reader in it.. <sighs>  So the pictures posted below were to be posted during Rebecca's Blog Hop, but I had no way of getting them off my camera... So today I went to Best Buy to retrieve my now fixed gaming computer and drop my daughter's computer off.  Sad to say her motherboard has died... And frankly replacing it for the third time is not worth the money or in my meager budget, so.. I had 85.00 in Best Buy credit for an item I returned and was told.. he we carry a data transfer doohickey to retrieve data off a hard drive.  <eyes perk up>  And we carry portable camera card readers to plug into a computer.. <eyes get really big and bright at this point>  So I go look and low and behold I can buy both and a new blue ink cartridge for my printer and still have a few dollars credit left over.  So now I can have my daughters harddrive hooked up to my computer and use it for extra storage <cause 3 terrabytes of hard drive space is not enough>, and retrieve pictures off of my camera!!  Yay!!  Life is looking better after the last month of darkness.!!

Princess Party Invites

Well my grandaughter turns 5 in July and her mother is planning a Disney Princess theme for the party.  I volunteered to create the party invites, but maybe regretting my decision.  My cutter is in need of some new mats so this isn't going as smoothly as I would have liked it to go.  Right now I am trying to cut 30 castles out of cardstock.  Then I get to assemble 30 invites and stamp about 60 images before the end of the month.  I also have two Father's Day cards that I need to get done no later then the middle of next week.  Hopefully I can get the castles cut today and I will feel as if I have accomplished something in the direction of the party invites.

Poem Boards

Just thought I would share a few that I have done over the past few months.  Enjoy!

Creating

Today I plan to spend most of this hot afternoon working on some cards in my Scrap room.  I am currently working on a British themed Birthday card for Mumsy that is in November, but I just bought the paper and am having alot of fun with it.  Will post pics when I am done.  Would also like to start posting some tutorials and images of my creative processes.  That will have to start witht he next card that I make.  Went shopping on Tuesday with some friends and family and found a really cool store about 45 minutes from home where Paper is sold by the pound.  I was in heaven.  Not the normal paper that I use, but for the small mats etc it will be just perfect.  That is where I found the British themed paper and some adorable stamps that I have just got to go back and get. Spent the first part of my creative time trying to redo the layout and design of my blog.  Wanted something new and fresh and this layout and background works for me.

Coloring Techniques

I was on you tube browsing videos on how to get the best possible colors out of my water color pencils when I stumbled across alot of videos that teach coloring with Markers and Stamp Pad inks to get the same effect as the water colored pencils and I am in love!!  I have alot of ink pads and markers that just sit here unused for the most part.  So the past few days have been spent practicing the techniques, and I must say.. I am in love!  I will post some of the finished products soon, as I just realised today that the end of the school year is fast approaching so that means teacher cards as well as my daughter in laws birthday, Father's day, Grand daughters birthday, and.... a wedding card for some friends of mine who are taking the big step! Brightest Blessings to you!

Sorry it has been awhile!

I have just been severly under the weather lately, and not in the mood to do anything but sleep or watch tv.  I did go out today and spent the Giftcard that I got for Mother's Day. I bought almost 100 pieces of gorgeous cardstock by Core'dnations and a beautiful Paris inspired paper pack by DCWV!!  I am going to play with the paper today in hopes of creating the wedding card for a wedding I am invited to attend in a month.

Make in the groove.

So I have been slacking off in my cards and gifts department.  I just have not wanted to create, but I have found some inspiration in the poems I find on the internet that call to me to showcase them.  I created a couple love poem boards as well as a 12x12 for my Mother as part of her gift for Mother's Day.  She has been so supportive in my creative journey as well as supporting me in fulfilling my dreams.  Words and gifts can never make up for the faith, inspiration, and support that she has given me over the past few years. I love you mom!

I'm Home!

Well my trip to Berlin was not as productive as I had hoped, but the weather was gorgeous and staying in doors to work on cards was just not an option after all the days and months of snow and cold.  It was in the 70's all weekend with the sun shining as bright as can be.  We spent the weekend shopping and site seeing around Berlin and then enjoyed peaceful evening of movies and friends.  I am eager to once again make the trek down there next year with my friends and relax once more.  We went to Breitenbach Winery and sampled some wines as well as had a relaxing fun filled lunch in the little cafe inside.  Then off to Heine's CHeese Chalet for some cheese and candies then over to our hotel to check in get settled and relax and make a card or two.  It was a wonderful weekend and I was one to be sorry to see it end, but promises of next year still linger and I am eagerly counting the months and days down till then.

Almost there!

Well as of this day I have 18 days before I hop in my car, grab a few friends and head to Amish Country to scrap the weekend away, drink wine, eat cheese, and laugh non stop. I am in desperate need of this break that is coming up.  I shall have about 12 days of vacation when it is all said and done. I am in need of those as I would love to just choke a few people at work :)

Be My Valentine!

My First attempt with my new Magnolia stamps.  I am in love with this couple.  They are so adorable. and the romantic window stamp in the background is just the perfect scene setter for them.  I created this card for a special friend for Valentine's Day, but may make another for them.  Not sure.  I just am having so much fun playing with the stamp.
This is another card I made using my Magnolia Minis that I received a week or so ago.  They are alot of fun to play with as well.  This one is for my Dear Hubby.  I hope he likes it as much as I had fun creating it.

Such an exciting Day!

So much has happened over the past few hours that made this day so much better then it was earlier when I had wished I had not gotten out of bed.  Some plans were finalised today, so that is one less thing to worry about, and my new Magnolia Mini's arrived from Magnolialicious!  I am so excited!  Now when the other two stamps I have ordered arrive I can get down to creative business and get this valentine's day card for that special someone in my life started!

New Cards!

Happy New Year!

Well I am glad 2012 is here.  I have so many new ventures and wonderful plans for this year.  I just placed an order for about 22 Magnolia Mini Stamps and am bidding on the "cuddles" stamp.  The moment I saw it I knew it was the perfect stamp for my RIF's Valentine's card.  We send *cuddles* via text every morning when we get up, and the stamp is just perfect.  Already planning the card out in my head.  I opened an ebay account to begin to sell my card creations.  I purchased a set of 48 water color pencils from ebay as well and waiting eagerly for them to arrive to play with them.  In March I am heading to Berlin, Ohio for my once a year weekend Scrap Retreat.  Not going to scrap just going to work on some Easter and Mother's Day cards, and perhaps if I have even more new stamps like I am hoping, I will work on some Father's Day and Wedding cards.
Mother Nature has finally decided to cover the ground with snow and it's rather chilly.  Plans to stay in today and play some hidden picture computer games that my Mother send home with me.  So hopefully this weekend I will have my new stamps and I can start playing around with them. The stamp I am bidding on expires tonight and I am the only one bidding on it, so I am hoping I shall have it in my hands this weekend as well.  I would love to start Edward's Valentine's Day card this weekend as I have the entire weekend off.
